the way is always beyond naming |
tiny as the germ that first started us |
no one can claim he's king over the way |
|
whatever ruler holds tight to the way wins all |
heaven and earth send manna like dew |
the people keep order without any laws |

but once the first simplicity gets split up |
names occur, categories, divisions: cry, enough! |
isn't it time to stop? how else sidestep disaster? |
||
streams flowing into rivers |
lakes spilling into oceans |
the world pours into the way |
